scope:

The Branch Manager will be responsible for the overall day-to-day operation of the branch. This includes assuring the branch operates within all policies and procedures adopted by the Board of Directors. The primary responsibility is to promote the branch and bank by servicing and deepening relationships with existing customers and attracting new customers with both loan and deposit products. The Branch Manager is responsible for public relations and generation of new business in accordance with the goals and objectives of the bank.

Key Duties and Responsibilities Including, but not limited to:

  • Responsible for the supervision of branch employees within the guidelines of the bank’s personnel policy and with the coordinated effort of Human Resources. Assure that necessary training is completed on a timely basis.
  • Schedule your staff in order to provide adequate customer service while being aware of trends in the number of teller transactions/activity levels of the branch and the effect this has on branch profitability. (when activity levels require, step up and assist the front line)
  • Keep up to date with changes in the banking industry and constantly be aware of the bank’s competition. (i.e.:  rates, services, new products, etc.)
  • Assure that the properties and facilities are kept up to bank standards regarding appearance, cleanliness and safety.
  • Communicate issues related to operations, human resources, lending and the like to appropriate management.
  • Understand and be measured against branch performance indicators. These may include such items as teller performance, sales performance, teller knowledge and opened/closed accounts.
  • Schedule periodic informational meetings with branch personnel for the purpose of discussing branch and company activity.
  • Responsible for deepening customer relationships with existing customers and help attract prospects to the bank.  This will be accomplished through understanding the full customer relationship and determining additional needs.
  • Meet with both current and prospective business customers to perform a needs analysis and make suggestions to Bank product and services based on your findings.
  • Ensure that customers’ inquiries at your branch are handled promptly and by the proper department. You are responsible for the overall level of customer service at your branch.
  • Must help cross-sell customers to all bank products and services. 
  • Assist in the transition to a sales environment, which may include setting individual sales goals.

Skills Needed

  • Five-Eight years bank experience preferred
  • Three years management experience preferred
  • High school Diploma or Equivalent
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Three years management experience preferred
